STRANGER THINGS

Hello, my name is Kaylynn Geter and one of my favorite things to do is watch tv. My boyfriend and i binge watch so many good shows, whether we are watching them together or by ourselves, it's only right i share them with the world. It is always great to get some sort of review on a show or movie before watching it because trust me, you can never get that time back once you've wasted it on a bad show. Here on kay-tvtalk, I am going to focus on tv series because every episodes purpose is to leave you wanting to watch the next episode. Some series are also ongoing, this will also give you something to look forward to. The show i chose to talk about today is called Stranger Things. This is a Netflix series, it has one season on Netflix and is expecting its second season by October 2017. This show is centered around a group of 4 young boys and when one of them goes missing without a trace, family and friends are desperate to figure out what happened to him. While investigating this mysterious disappearance, everyone soon discovers that the government has been performing strange experiments in order to connect to a second world; which unleashes supernatural forces that terrorize the small town. This show is a sci-fi thriller and it does great job of connecting science fiction and the supernatural with reality. It is completely different from something i would normally watch, but thats what makes it such a great show. It did a great job of keeping me interested with its plot and characters. The show is also set in the 70's which i think was a perfect time period for the storyline. This show has all the aspects of a movie but in a television show and is very suspenseful. Since this show's theme is very similar to a movie, it was originally expected to have different characters and a completely different story every season. I am assuming that because the show became so popular so quickly, the writers of the show just decided to keep its same characters and storyline. This is great because the writers left its audience with so many questions and so much anticipation for the next season, so we actually want to see these same characters again. I am excited for its second season and learning more about the strange things going on in this town. If you have seen the show before feel free to comment your opinions or thoughts down below. I hope you guys are interested in giving this show a chance, you won't regret it. Stay tuned for next weeks featured show on Kay-tvtalk.

PRETTYLITTLELIARS

Hello, and welcome back to Kay-tvtalk. the show I chose to talk about today is called Pretty Little Liars. The series started a s book and premiered on television June 8, 2010 on ABC Family (channel name was changed to Freeform) and has had 7 successful seasons, and they are all available on Netflix. During high school I was literally OBSESSED with this show and Aria was my favorite character. I couldn't wait to see the new episodes every Tuesday! This show was about 5 girls who were really popular at their high school in Rosewood: Hannah, Spencer, Emily, Aria, and Allison. The queen bee of the bunch Alison, goes missing, and the girls are left to pick up pieces as their worlds come crumbling down. The girls grow apart but soon come together again after receiving mysterious text messages from an anonymous person named "A". "A" constantly threatens to expose all of the girls secrets, old secrets that only Alison would know and even new secrets developed after ...

INSECURE?

Hello, and welcome back to Kay-tvtalk. The show I chose to talk about today is called Insecure. This show plays on HBO, and is about 35 minutes long. It just finished it’s second season, and each season is only about nine episodes so there is plenty of time to catch up.This show is literally one my favorite shows ever, and this is simply because of the authenticity this show portrays. The show was created by it’s co-star Issa Rae and the writer/comic Larry Wilmore. The show focuses on Issa and her best friend Molly as they deal with everyday issues in dating, relationships, jobs, and friendships, as well as working to fix their own flaws as individuals. This show is especially unique because some of the issues the two women face are specific to black women. The lives of the characters are extremely relatable, maybe not because you experienced something similar but because its common in today's day and age. The awkward situations the two women ...

RIVERDALE

Hello, and welcome back to Kay-tvtalk. The show I chose to talk about today, is one of the newer series that started earlier this year, called Riverdale. Riverdale premieres on the CW, and is on tv right now for its second season. The first episode of the first season starts you out with a lot of information. It is revealed that one of the main characters Archie, is having an affair with his music teacher, and is afraid to tell his dad that he wants to pursue music. His girl best friend Betty secretly has a crush on him. Frustrated with the fact that he doesn't notice it, she is jealous when her new friend Veronica, who is new to town, catches his attention. Besides all the minor drama in the show, you also learn that there is a mystery the town is trying desperately to find the answers to; Jason Blossom is missing. Jason Blossom was a rich football star, and one of the most popular guys in school, along with his very popular twin sister Cheryl. The whole town is ...
