POWER

Hello and welcome back to Kay-tvtalk! The show i chose to talk about today is called Power. This show premieres on Starz, and usually one of the exclusive channels for any cable company. You can also purchase an account with Starz and view the series online at Starz.com. This series is not offered on Netflix because it is a Starz original series. Power is the most popular show on this network. It just finished its fourth season at the end of the summer.The show's co executive is the rapper 50 Cent, so this has brought a lot of the publicity to the show as well. I actually heard about this show from a friend and one day finally decided to give it a try, so I had to binge watch it to catch up, but its literally so worth it! The main characters name is James "Ghost" St.Patrick, and he is a father, husband, and a very wealthy new club owner. However, as you watch the show you will quickly learn that St. Patrick is living a double life. St.Patrick may be his name during his business ventures, but to his drug empire he is known as Ghost. In order to keep his drug affiliations a secret, he launders the drug money through his well known night club. However, now that Ghost has made a very lavish life for himself, his family and has a legitimate way to launder the money , he has hopes of living a normal life and leaving the drug business for good. Ghost knew it wouldn't be an easy journey getting out of the drug game, but he is willing to take that risk. With Ghost more focused on his own endeavors, he does not see just how much his life and actions have affected others. He quickly realizes that he cannot escape his past, however he will stop at nothing to have his happy ending. Power gives so much suspense through every episode, that i cant wait until the next week to watch the new episode. The way all of the characters intertwine provides so much drama for each story line to keep you entertained. There is actually a lot  good of violence incorporated in the show, but thats expected for a show based on the life of a drug dealer. However, there is also a lot sexual activity portrayed in the show that is quite explicit. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend for it to be watched around any children. I love power, the story line is very believable, its not overly dramatized, and at times its pretty funny. It is a great show that keeps you on your toes, you won't be able to predict what going to happen next; there are so many surprises.
